share.

i just thought i would share a couple other scrapbooking blogs that i visit because maybe you will enjoy them too. [i'm sorry i can't just make them into links. i use a mac and for some reason blogger doesn't yet allow linking for mac users. i don't get it, but that's what i found out a while ago.]

the effer dares: http://fortheloveofeffers.blogspot.com/
i've never actually done one of their challenges, but i find all those girls [the effers] pretty inspiring.

the number challenges: http://janellerichmond.typepad.com/itsallaboutthenumbers/
i did the first couple of these. this challenge blog started around the same time as the how much is too much? blog, and i got too busy and stopped doing both of them. i never started this one back up, but perhaps if i'm looking for inspiration sometime i will.

play.create.encourage: http://pcsmart.typepad.com/playcreateencourage/
i have this in my bookmarks, but i don't really visit it that often. there are some cute projects though.

page maps: http://www.pagemaps.com/
there are a lot of sites like this, i think. i've never used it, but it does seem like it could be very helpful to cure a case of scrapper's block.

i guess the main place i visit is twopeasinabucket.com... my day doesn't feel complete until i've had a little session of browsing on there. i know. it's a little sad. james makes fun of me for it too. :]

so yeah. just a couple of fun places to check out when you're bored. if you have any fun places, let me know.
oh. and if you have any good sources for black and white photography inspiration... i am greatly in need. i shot two rolls today of snowy landscape. i need some new ideas.

warm.

it's been snowing since last night here. i'd say we have 8-10 inches in my backyard. it's too cold to actually go out there and find out. so i am staying warm inside with my fleece pajama bottoms from old navy. they have these cute little snowmen on them. :] everyone keeps saying school should be canceled, but i don't know if the university has a such thing as "snow days." plus i have lab tomorrow, so it wouldn't be good for it to get canceled.

anyway. i made this tonight. i shouldn't have... i should have been doing something for school. i don't know what to do with myself. i can't stay away from my scrap desk. and it's always late at night when i'm drawn to it. well this page was totally just for fun. no challenge or anything this time. i am proud of myself. it's been so long since i've scrapped without a challenge in mind. i played with some things from the zingBOOM kit and also some of my new basic grey paper. the little robot stamp, the arrow paper, the yellow paper lacey stuff, and the little paper flower are from the kit. i love those little paper flowers. i feel bad in a way saying this, because some artist is making money to ?possibly? support herself selling those little beauties, but i could totally make them myself. just cut a few vague flower shapes and add an eyelet in the middle. i will probably make some of my own to coordinate with something in the future. in fact, i think i used to make them in art class as a kid. i need to remember more little things i made in art classes as a kid for my scrapbook pages! i had torn a page out of this little notebook to test the robot stamp on and then it looked so good i decided i had to make a page with the little test paper. haha. oh and the little graph paper looking stuff is actually from my biochem lab last semester. yes, i know, i'm strange... but i was cutting my plots down to fit in my notebook, and i had a bunch of little scraps. i just knew i had to save them to use at somepoint on a page. :] AND that little polaroid!! i think i mentioned it before... carol's sister has a mini polaroid camera. it makes little polaroids the size of a credit card. i need one of those cameras! [so basically i need to go to japan or korea.] that's the picture she took of us when we went to pf chang's, and it's just been sitting on my desk. i guess i've been saving it. :] oh and i'm almost out of the white heidi swapp chipboard alphabets. [note that i had to use some black ones.] i really need to look for some more. i haven't been able to find the white ones anywhere. so this is a lot of rambling for one page. i should stop and go to sleep! i guess one last note, i think i might make this into a two page layout. i don't have anymore of that cardstock... but i might be able to find something. i just have so much more that i could/want to say about this topic.

ok. well. i must go now.

susan.

i just saw your comment! how are you? i think you should start a blog too. that way alyssa, you, and me can all be blogger buds. :] and then one day, we can have a blogger bud reunion. [but it can't be in nevada. i want to travel somewhere new.]

i miss you guys!

24.

here i go again. how much is too much? #24

20 different manufactures. i was worried that i didn't even own that many. ha. sometimes i underestimate myself. :]

so i think i'll put the manufacturer and then in brackets i'll put what i used from them...
bazzill [cardstock.]
ki memories [pp.]
gin-x [pp.]
autumn leaves [pp.]
american crafts [pp.]
my minds eye [pp.]
heidi grace [pp.]
tinkering ink [pp.]
creative imaginations [pp.]
sassafrass lass [pp.]
michael miller [fabric pp.]
sei [pp.]
basic grey [pp.]
making memories [brads.]
hambly [transparency.]
mrs. grossman's [sticker.]
could 9 [rain dots.]
prima [flower.]
heidi swapp [chipboard letters & journaling circle.]
doodlebug [rub-on letters.]
ek success [fastenator.]
dymo [tag.]
stickles [glitter.]

plus the things that probably don't count like glue dots, adhesive, the white signo pen, and the black sakura pen. oh and some puffy paint too. :]

i seriously had so much fun making this. i might try to do more pages like this. it's really interesting to try to mix different lines. i mean... i love when things coordinate perfectly too, but this makes you use up more stuff that you might just let sit and it just kind of pushes you to look at things in a new way to coordinate them.

oh and i need to buy another scrapbook. i've already filled the one i got on my birthday... i had more layouts sitting around than i thought. i don't like just having my pages laying around. they can get dirty and plus, i don't always adhere my stuff the best, so little things can fall off. :[

ok. off to bed.

hmmm.

i have a lot that needs to get done. story of my life, right? and i never want to do any of it.

last night i finally went to the chocolate bar. i've been wanting to go there for a long time now. james, deepa, and rick went with me. i think i am the only one who really loved it. james will go back with me though. he liked it because he said it seems like something that would be in new york. :] after that, we went to vino's for 80s night. they were playing all the old 80s hits like from the smiths, the cure, madonna, and even some michael jackson. haha. we had fun. i am actually sore today from all the dancing.

today, i went to a movie with all the girls that i study with. we decided to make it a girls day. we went to see because i said so. it was pretty good. we all got a couple laughs out of it. they were going to eat sushi and i hate sushi, so i decided to pass. james and i went to dinner with carol and soo at the restraunt where carol's boyfriend works. he is actually a sushi chef, but this restraunt has all kinds of asian food [that's acutally edible. ha.]

afterwards, they came to meet the puppy. we all played for a while with helix and then they left and james and i went to get ice cream. funny thing because we had ice cream yesterday too. i can't help myself. i love sweets.

ok well i am off to book a hotel room for a night in san francisco. pretty excited to go there again. :]

fun.

i should have worked on my lab notebook, but instead i made this. :]

it's for the "how much is too much?" challenge #23. this is the same challenge that i made the "thankful" page for. you can check it out over at: http://hmitm.blogspot.com. i started out doing them when they first started, but i only did like the first 5 or something. [the old challenges can be found at: http://howmuchistoomuch.blogspot.com] now they have started back up for the new year with a new blog. so maybe i will keep up this time. [even though i shouldn't... i should let school fill that time instead. blah.]

i'll point out my 5 of each thing: the buttons are obvious. the tags are behind the buttons. [they say "you don't need the sun to make you shine."] the rub-ons are the little yellow letters that say "san francisco". the fabric-y items are: the green felt tag, the yellow fabric, the blue ribbon, the yellow ribbon, and the brown floss that is holding the buttons on the tags. the 5 colors are brown, green, blue, yellow, and white. [there is also some gold, orange, and red on there.]

ok. time for bed. :]

puppy.

so this is the little guy. he actually hates his bed. ha. if we try to get him in it, he will just get up and walk out and lay down right next to it. pretty funny. his favorite place is on a lap or on the couch.

i think this picture is super cute, and with james in there you can get a better idea of how small helix is.

and finally we are trying to get him used to his leash. he didn't like it at all at first, but james took him for a walk today while i was tutoring, and he said helix started to get the hang of it and would follow a bit more and was just less resistant.

so yeah. it's exciting to see him start to understand more and more. the first night he learned how to go up stairs, but was still too scared to go down them. yesterday, he learned how to go down them too. it's pretty cute.

blue.

i am terrible. i got sucked into this: www.thecolorcode.com

the color code personality test. it was pretty interesting. i kind of rushed though it because i am tired but i had to do it. i don't even know why though. ha. but i am a blue and this is what it said:

BLUES are motivated by INTIMACY. They seek to genuinely connect with others, and need to be understood and appreciated. Everything they do is quality-based. They are loyal friends, employers, and employees. Whatever or whomever they commit to is their sole (and soul) focus. They love to serve and give themselves freely in order to nurture others' lives.

BLUES have distinct preferences and have the most controlling personality. Their personal code of ethics is remarkably strong and they expect others to live honest, committed lives as well. They enjoy meaningful moments in conversation as well as paying close attention to special life events (e.g. birthdays and anniversaries). BLUES are dependable, thoughtful, and analytical; but can also be self-righteous, worry-prone, and moody. They are "sainted pit-bulls" who never let go of something or someone, once they are committed. When you deal with a BLUE, be sincere and make a genuine effort to understand and appreciate them.

some of it is extremely true, but i sort of feel like these things are a little bogus [like horoscopes.] they are fun, but i don't know if they really mean anything. i think i could have been a red and still thought "oooh that is so me!" you know? like they are just a bunch of random details. still a little interesting and entertaining though. good conversation starter if anything. :]

goodnight for real this time.
