co.

well. i enjoyed my internet break so much that i extended it. i'm not even entirely sure that i want to blog now, but i feel like i should so i don't forget. :]

my trip was so nice. i'm actually pretty sad to be home. i loved staying with my grandparents again... it's been about 10 years.

so a quick little run through of my trip:

i got to the airport at about 4:20am and checked in and was through security by 4:35am. my flight didn't leave until 6:00am. so i listened to my iPod and tried to stay awake. [and wished that i had the iPhone to play with. ah well. i'm still holding out for the second generation.]

-my flight arrived in denver about 15 minutes early, but there was a problem with the luggage, so my grandparents arrived at a good time... they didn't have to wait too long for me. :]

-we went to their house, i ate some breakfast, and took a little nap. then we headed up to evergreen to see my sister's office and have lunch. we stopped by her apartment to check it out too. it's really nice. and i know she's excited about it.

-my sister and i went to ft. collins to see my other grandparents for dinner. there was a lot of traffic on the way, so that wasn't too fun. plus i was really tired most of the day because i had only slept for about an hour before going to the airport. dinner was good though. we had meat loaf, which i'd been craving for a looong time.

-we headed back "home" to our other grandparents house. i slept super well that night.

-the next morning, my uncle and his friend came over for breakfast. it was yummy. and it had been about 10 years since i'd seen my uncle. so that was nice.

-we spent the day shopping for furniture with my uncle. i got SO tired of shopping. we took a break for lunch at chili's. then my uncle took me back to my grandparents, while my sister and her friend continued shopping.

-my grandma took me to hobby lobby so i could check out the elsie stuff. i was sort of thinking i would just buy all of it, but instead i just got one of the paper packs, some stickers, and one mini album. i would have gotten some chipboard stuff, but they were sold out. oh well.

-we had dinner that night and my sister and her friend wanted me to go bowling, but i decided to stay and play scrabble with my grandparents. :]

-sunday morning my uncle was over for breakfast again, then my sister and i went to park meadows. that mall is so nice, and it has just about every store i could hope for. i guess in a way, i'm lucky i don't live closer... i don't think my bank account would be too happy. ha.

-we also stopped at target to get a few other things for her apartment. gotta love target. :]

-that night, we had a big family dinner. my aunt was able to come and my uncle was there, plus some of my dad's cousins. again, i hadn't seen them for about 10 years, so it was really nice.

-we watched this old video from a big dinner at my grandparents house when i was probably like 7 or 8 years old. it was crazy. we were laughing a lot, but you know... it was kind of sad too. some of the people in the video aren't with us anymore. so yeah. then we all sort of sat around and talked for a while. i was really wishing that i didn't have to come home. i like being there and seeing all the family.

-the next day i just pretty much had breakfast with everyone and had to leave to the airport at 9:00am. we got to the airport at about 9:30am and i didn't get to my gate until 10:50am. the lines for security were crazy. they have a big section winding back and fourth, back and fourth, but that was completely full... then the line was winding all the way back and around into the baggage claim area and all the way down past about 10 luggage carousels. my boarding time was 11:10am, so i was a little nervous when i got into the line, but luckily, it was moving along at a decent pace.

other things:
-my great uncle passed away a few months ago, so his little dog, gonzo, was staying with my grandparents. gonzo was such a funny little guy. i'm so sad that i didn't get a photo of him.

-i didn't manage to take all that many photos. i know i had planned on being really good about photo taking, but i sort of gathered that people didn't want their photos taken. and other than people, there wasn't too much to document.

-when i got home, i opened my suitcase to find that it had been completely rummaged through. i'm aware that they look inside, but i've never had it completely torn apart. all my clothes were unfolded and just shoved here and there. and two of my white shirts have this big black mark across them. :/ so i was a little upset when i saw that. i think next time, i'll forgo the hairspray and just use my sister's so that i can just carry my suitcase on with me. the thought of someone touching my undies creeps me out. ha. seriously though.

-last night, my mom booked our flights for thanksgiving! i can't wait. my parents are going for the whole week, but i can't fly out until thanksgiving day because of school. [my flight will be at 6am again. yikes.] then we'll all fly back together. i think my brother and sister-in-law and going to try to make it out there as well. oh it would be so cool! so during that trip, i'm really going to take lots of photos. i'll just have to get more sneaky about photographing people who don't like to have their picture taken. ha. my cousin's wedding reception will also be on the saturday after thanksgiving. so it will be busy, but i'm so looking forward to it.

-james and i are playing with the idea of making a trip over winter break. i'm really pushing the snowboarding options to try to convince him. ha. :] we were thinking about korea, but flights are pretty expensive, so it would be ideal go for like 2 weeks... so summer might be a better time. and new york. i still want to go... but i guess i've sort of moved my focus to going to denver. we'll just see what happens, but i like thinking about it. :]
