happy fourth. :]

today has been an extra low key day.
it's fun to have james home today. usually we are only home together on saturday, and it becomes a day to get things done.
we had planned to have a small bbq today with a few friends and people from james' work and got all stocked up at costco yesterday.
but it didn't pan out. ha.
james' friends went to the beach, my friend who i originally made the plan with went to vegas.
so now we have a freezer full of food. :]

we ended up just hanging out together. i think maybe he was a little sad that he didn't go to the lake with his friends, but he said he wanted to be with me. [i guess he is a little romantic on occasion. ha.]
james and i were playing wii tennis, and i suggested that we go play real tennis... a couple minutes later, we were out the door. :]
i had a lot of fun, even though he kicked my butt. ha. i've been missing tennis this summer, and it felt so nice to go run around and get totally exhausted and sweaty. it was a good work out. i know i'll be sore tomorrow.
i told my mom that i need to get secret tennis lessons, so that i can suddenly just beat him. in reality, i probably need to work out in order to win. my wrist got ridiculously sore... it's actually pretty pathetic... my wrist gets sore from the wii remote. ack. not a good thing.

we ended up cooking some of the food we got yesterday for dinner tonight with my parents. now we just have to decide if we want to attempt to go watch fireworks or just keep hanging out. we'll see.

i hope that everyone has been able to enjoy the day!

I'm glad you had a good 4th even though it didn't turn out as planned. Yeah, it seems like most of our plans didn't pan out either. We decided we would go to this ice cream place that sells fresh fruit popsicles, well it was closed. We wanted to see fireworks, but they were just starting too late to feel good about taking Jessie out. But we did all go out and see the Pixar movie Wall-E. It was cute. :)

I say you should just do your BBQ another week. The extra food is a good excuse to get people together :)
